Observation: No one onsite at the time of inspection had FOODSAFE level 1. As per the food handler who was onsite at the time of inspection, her FOODSAFE level 1 certificate has expired.
Corrective Action(s): The staff currently onsite is aware that her FOODSAFE level 1 has expired, she is looking to renewing her certificate however due to a language barrier, there has been a delay. Ensure at least one staff onsite has FOODSAFE level 1 or equivlanet. As per the Food Premises Regulation (B.C. Reg. 210/99), in the absence of the operator, at least one staff must have FOODSAFE level 1 or equivalent at all time.

Comments

Note: The facility has been recently renovated. As per the operator, no change was made to the layout nor were there any addition/ removal of equipment. All surfaces in the facility are noted smooth, non-porous and easily cleanable. Facility was also well lit.

Routine inspection conducted today:
Handwash stations, including staff washroom, were accessible, equipped with hot and cold running water, liquid soap and paper towel.
All refrigerator units were noted at ≤ 4C.
Freezer unit was noted at ≤ -18C.
Thermometers noted available in all refrigeration and freezer units.
Proper dispensers with handles noted in a bulk food bin. **Ensure to keep the handle away and not in contact with the food at all time.**
Quat sanitizer spray bottles were available, clear name label on the spray bottles. 400 ppm QUAT was detected in the spray bottles.
Drain plugs were available for the 3-compartment sink for manual warewashing.
Mop bucket noted emptied after use. Back door kept close, did not observe any potential entry sites for pests.
General sanitation and organization satisfactory.
No signs of pest activities noted during the inspection.
