Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP). All care categories were inspected for compliance.

Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice.

Observed Violations
No violations were found during the inspection.

Comments

At the inspection dated Oct. 26, 2022 there were 16 children and 3 staff present.The manager also arrived on-site and assisted with the inspection. At this inspection, no contraventions were identified.

As part of this Routine Inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool is completed and a copy is provided.

The following education/recommendations/discussions were provided:
- Continue to document minor incidents using the incident log bound book, and take note of any illness and unexpected events involving children not requiring medical attention, and that are not reportable incidents as described in Schedule H and staff to write the date and initial after each documentation
- Continue to clean and sanitize the facility including toys and equipment
- Check the expiry date of items in the emergency supplies kit
- Continue to ensure safety checks are completed before using the on-site play space
- Staff qualifications and ratio
- Spacing of water bottles when not in use

A business card was also provided.
