Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Can opener had accumulation of food debris on it.
Corrective Action(s): Ensure can opener is cleaned regularly to prevent build up of food debris.

209 - Food not protected from contamination [s. 12(a)]
Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): A small amount of raw ground meat in loosely wrapped plastic wrap was noted stored above lettuce in a cooler. Lettuce was wrapped however this is practice is not food safe and has been noted on a previous report.
Corrective Action(s): Ensure raw meats are ALWAYS stored beneath ready to eat products to prevent contamination by dripping juices or product.

306 - Food premises not maintained in a sanitary condition [s. 17(1)]
Observation: Dirt and debris noted on edges of floor where walls meet floor and around equipment. Build up of dirt/grease noted on shelving across from grill.
Corrective Action(s): Clean these areas and ensure they are cleaned frequently and thouroughly as to prevent build up or dirt/grease/debris.

Comments

Hot and cold running water was available.
Liquid soap and paper towel were present at the hand sink and in the staff washroom
Bleach sanitizer solution was present at >100ppm chlorine to store wiping cloths for sanitizing food contact surfaces
Bleach was present to sanitize dishes in the 3 compartment sink.
All freezers were functioning.
All cooler were 4C or colder.
No signs of pest activity at the time of the inspection.
Flooring in dishwashing area has been recently replaced and the area has been painted. As the flooring in the the back begins to wear, it will also require replacing to ensure the surface remains impervious and washable.
