Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Large spring rolls stored in hot holding unit noted at 44 C. Food has been in unit for more then 2 hours.
Corrective Action(s): Ensure all potentially hazardous foods are maintained at or above 60 C. All PHFs below 60 C for more then 2 hours must be discarded. Spring rolls were discarded during inspection.

Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Back hand washing sink blocked by garbage bin and mop/mop bucket.
Corrective Action(s): Ensure all handwashing sinks are easily accessible to allow employees to proper handwashing. Garbage bin and mop bucket moved.

Observation: Bag of rice stored on the floor in pantry, cardboard boxes of meat stored on the floor of kitchen and floor of walk in cooler.
Corrective Action(s): Ensure all food is stored at least 6 inches off the ground to allow for proper cleaning, protect food and monitoring of pests.

306 - Food premises not maintained in a sanitary condition [s. 17(1)]
Observation: Grease and food debris build up in hard to reach places behind and under cooking equipment. Old mouse droppings noted under front counter by hot holding units.
Corrective Action(s): Ensure the kitchen is maintained in sanitary condition and hard to reach areas are regularly cleaned. All mouse droppings must be cleaned and areas sanitized to allow proper monitoring for new pest activity. Proper cleaning will eliminated a food source for pests.

Observation: Left hot holding unit noted 44 C and not maintaining proper temperature.
Corrective Action(s): Ensure all hot holding units can reach and maintain 60 C. Repair or replace unit. Until unit functions properly no food must be hot held or stored in unit. Food discarded.

-Dishwashing: sanitizer comp noted 200 ppm chlorine
-Sanitizer buckets: 100 ppm chlorine (<50 ppm chlorine for front bucket - changed during inspection)
*Must maintain 100-200 ppm chlorine solution for sanitizing surfaces
-Hand washing sinks noted hot & cold water, liquid soap and paper towel available
-Pest control reports reviewed for last 3 months - no concerns noted (back screen door in use during inspection)

***Leche flan and coconut topped rice pudding for sale with no labels. All food products sold to customers in sealed containers must have proper labels (ex. product name, business name, contact info... etc). All non-labeled products must be removed from shelves until properly labelled.

Note:
-Operator no longer selling donairs and will be removing 2 donair machines. A new deep fryer is approved to be put next to grill under the commercial hood fan.
-Operator is approved to move hot holding units to replace out of order prep cooler facing front of store. Side counter (old hot holding area) will be replaced with new counter and prep sink for bubble tea. Floor plans and approval from the City of Burnaby and Fraser Health will be required before work can be started. A FSP and SP for the bubble tea and equipment will also need to be approved by Fraser Health before new service can begin.
