Introduction

A scheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP). All areas of the facility were inspected for compliance.
A Covid-19 risk screening was completed prior to attending the facility.

Observed Violations
LICENSING: 10050 - CCLR s.11(1) - A licensee must display in a prominent place in the community care facility both the licence, including any terms or conditions of the licence, and the name of the manager.
Observation: The name of the Manger was not posted.
Corrective Action(s): Ensure that the name of the Manager is posted.

POLICIES AND PROCEDURES: 13020 - CCLR s.22(1)(b) - A licensee must have all of the following: (b) an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency.
Observation: The Manager stated that she did not have enough emergency supplies to respond to an emergency including food and water.
Corrective Action(s): Ensure that you have enough emergency supplies to respond to an emergency.

RECORDS AND REPORTING: 19070 - CCLR s.57(2)(a) - A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (a) name, sex, date of birth, medical insurance plan number and immunization status.
Observation: 2 children did not have a medical insurance number.
Corrective Action(s): Ensure that each child has a medical insurance number.

Comments

Summary of Inspection
At the inspection dated September 29, 2020 there were 3 children and 1 staff present. At this inspection the above contraventions were identified. The Manager will take action to bring the facility into compliance and provide a written response to the Licensing Officer. The Licensing Officer will review the response. As part of this Routine Inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool and a Covid-19 Infection Control Assessment was completed and a copy provided. This inspection and the risk assessment were written off site and a copy was provided to the facility.
The following education/recommendations were provided:
· Increased sanitization procedures
· Facility cleaning supplies and products
· COVID-19 prevention strategies were reviewed and discussed.
· Emergency supplies
· Non-reportable incident log
