A discussion took place with the Licensee/Manager regarding the recent submission of a temporary placement application. The Licensee is requesting to have 3 children under 24 months. The length of time of the temporary placement would be for 6 weeks, the expiry date noted on the temporary placement is October 28, 2018. Once the expiry date has been reached, there will only be 2 children under 24 months which meets the legislative requirements for Family Child Care. The Licensee does not engage in field trips, however does frequent a local park. A double stroller is present for the younger children, the older children can walk the short distance to the park. Based on the information submitted, Licensing does not have concerns regarding this temporary placement, and will go ahead and approve the application. The start date for the temporary placement is for Tuesday September 25, 2018, with an expiry date of October 28, 2018.

Comments

Licensing completed a walk through of the upper level of the home that is not used for child care. There was no evidence of children accessing the upper level of home.
Licensing reviewed the facility's Active Supervision, Active Play and Screen Time policies. All appear to meet all legislative requirements, and have been shared with all registered and newly applying families.
