Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act(CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations(CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice(DOLSOP). All care categories were inspected for compliance. A full walk through of the premise was completed- no concerns.

Observed Violations
LICENSING: 10050 - CCLR s.11(1) - A licensee must display in a prominent place in the community care facility both the licence, including any terms or conditions of the licence, and the name of the manager.
Observation: The name of the manager was not posted within the facility.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure that manager's name is posted in a prominent place within the facility.

RECORDS AND REPORTING: 19070 - CCLR s.57(2)(a) - A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (a) name, sex, date of birth, medical insurance plan number and immunization status.
Observation: 4 children's files were reviewed; 1 child's care card # and 1 child's sex information were missing on their files.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure that all children's files are complete.

RECORDS AND REPORTING: 19100 - CCLR s.57(2)(d) - A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (d) name and telephone number of a parent, medical practitioner and emergency contact.
Observation: 4 children's files were reviewed; 2 children were missing their emergency contact information.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure that all children's files are complete.

Comments

On the inspection date of November 18, 2021 there were 7 children and 1 staff present. At this inspection the above noted contravention was identified and the Licensee is required to take corrective action to bring the facility into compliance and submit a written response by below date for Licensing to review. The contravention noted in this report was reviewed with the staff during inspection. As part of this Routine Inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool is completed and a copy is attached.
The following were discussed with the Manager:
-LO reviewed the facility's Covid-19 safety plan with the staff
-Outdoor Play Areas ( Away): please submit an off-site play space outlining how you will ensure the health, safety and well-being of children and meet legislative requirement ( see attached)
