Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care & Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulation (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DOLSP). All care categories were inspected for compliance.

Observed Violations
RECORDS AND REPORTING: 19100 - CCLR s.57(2)(d) - A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (d) name and telephone number of a parent, medical practitioner and emergency contact.
Observation: Files for seven children were reviewed. The name and contact phone number for an emergency contact was not available in two files.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure all children's files contain the name and contact phone number for an emergency contact.

Comments

Summary of Inspection
At the inspection dated May 31, 2021 there were five children and one staff present. At this inspection the above noted contravention was identified. The Licensee is required to submit a written response to the Licensing Officer on or before June 10, 2021 stating how the contravention has been addressed. The Licensing Officer will assess the response and provide feedback as required. As part of this routine inspection a facility risk assessment tool is completed and a copy is provided.
A copy of this report and the risk assessment tool were sent by email to the Licensee on May 31, 2021.
