Introduction

An unscheduled/scheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP). All designated areas of the facility from where the childcare operates were inspected for compliance.

Observed Violations

RECORDS AND REPORTING: 19070 - CCLR s.57(2)(a) - A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (a) name, sex, date of birth, medical insurance plan number and immunization status. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Five children's records were reviewed. Four records were from children in attendance at today's inspection. One record was missing gender. Please note this was noted on the last routine inspection. Corrective Action(s): Ensure records are complete for each child in accordance with Section 57 of the Child Care Licensing Regulation. Comments

At the inspection dated May 21, 2019 there were four children and 1 staff present. At this inspection the above noted contraventions were identified or no contraventions were identified. Actions required by the licensee and actions required the LO are included in the report. As part of this Routine Inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool is completed and a copy is provided. Inspection report was reviewed with the Manager and will be mailed. Child Care Licensing Regulation The Child Care Licensing Regulation (CCLR) on-site was from 2002. There have been updates to the CCLR. Copies are available online for printing or purchase at the Chilliwack Licensing Office. Licensing Officer's business card was provided which has the office address. Criminal Record Authorization Forms (Section 60 (2) CCLR As discussed, authorization forms for criminal record checks are required to be maintained on file. Manager advised that the forms may be in another file that the President maintains. Please inquire and advise Licensing as to whether the authorization forms are maintained on file. The following education/recommendations were discussed and will be emailed to the Manager:  Active Supervision  Lead in the Water  Reportable Incident Bulletin Visit the CCFL website at www.fraserhealth.ca/childcare for additional resources, and links to the Legislation (CCALA and CCLR).
