Code 401 noted on Routine inspection # PKUR-CEDNG6 of May-12-2022 Adequate handwashing stations not available for employees [s. 21(4)] Observation: Front handwashing sink (with foot pedals) did not have hot water. Correction: Handwashing sinks must be supplied with hot and cold running water at all times in order to properly wash hands. Adjust hot water valve so that there is an adequate supply of hot water at this sink. Correct immediately. Use sink in back for handwashing in the interim. Code 303 noted on Follow-Up inspection # PKUR-CERU98 of May-25-2022 Equipment/facilities/hot & cold water for sanitary maintenance not adequate [s. 17(3); s. 4(1)(f)] Observation: No hot running water at the hand washing sink - water is cold. No hot running water at the dishwashing sink (water was only warm) at the start of the inspection. Water was hot again at the end of the inspection (1 hour later). Staff stated there was hot water when all the racks were washed. Staff used hot water for approx 40 mins. Potential leak in plumbing or hot water tank is too small and cannot keep up with the demand. There is hot running water in the staff washroom. Correction: Ensure all sinks have hot and cold running water at all times. Correct immediately. Repair leaks or replace hot water tank if needed. Failure to comply may result in further enforcement action. This is a repeat violation. Correction: All sinks must have cold and hot running water at all times. Use back sink in dishwashing area for washing hands in the interim - stock with liquid soap and paper towel. Correct immediately. Failure to comply may result in further enforcement action.

Comments

Follow-up inspection to report PKUR-CEDNG6. Hot running water available at both the hand washing sink and the back dishwashing sink. Both sinks were serviced by a plumber this morning according to staff. Staff indicated they just finished washing all their dishes and did not run out of hot water.
