Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Dried on food debris observed on inside surface of grinder.
Corrective Action(s): Grinder tube was placed into dish washing area for washing and sanitizing. Please obtain a brush that is able to reach all inside surfaces of the grinder so that it can be properly cleaned prior to sanitizing. Proper sanitizing is needed to limit potential cross contamination.

Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): No surface sanitizer available upon inspector arrival. Staff stated that sanitizer was discarded recently as restaurant was being closed after lunch. Restaurant in operation at time of inspection.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure that sanitizer is available at all times during operating hours. Bleach water sanitizer was prepared at 100 to 200 ppm chlorine. Wiping cloths stored in sanitizer.

Observation: Front hand washing station has no soap or paper towels.
Corrective Action(s): Provide liquid hand soap and single use paper towels for this sink to facilitate proper hand washing. Date to be corrected by: Today.

Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): The following was observed in the walk in cooler:
- Open can of pineapples
- Multiple food items were not covered
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure that all foods are protected from contamination. Ensure that once opened, canned foods are transferred to a food grade container.

306 - Food premises not maintained in a sanitary condition [s. 17(1)]
Observation: Food debris observed underneath and behind shelving, freezer units, and cooking equipment. Grease is beginning to build up on ventilation hood baffles.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure that the above noted areas, along with any other hard-to-reach areas, are being properly cleaned. Food debris may attract pest activity. Date to be corrected by: October 18, 2017.

Routine inspection conducted:

- Walk in cooler at 2 degrees C. Raw and ready-to-eat foods are properly organized.
- Beverage cooler at 2 degrees C. No potentially hazardous food storage.
- Chest freezers at -18 degrees C or less.
- Hand washing station (2 compartment sink) supplied with hot and cold running water, liquid hand soap, and single use paper towels.
- Low temperature dishwasher measured 56 degrees C and 50 to 100 ppm chlorine in rinse residual.
- No evidence of pest activity noted.
- FOODSAFE requirements met at time of inspection. *Note: As of July 29, 2013, FOODSAFE Level 1 certificates issued in BC will expire after 5 years. Existing FOODSAFE Level 1 certificates are valid until July 29, 2018.
