Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP).

Risk screening was conducted prior to the inspection.
The following areas were reviewed for compliance:
- Licensing
- Physical Facility
- Care and supervision
- Hygiene practices
- Nutrition
- Program
- Child emergency records
- Reporting
- Care plans/medication

Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice.

Observed Violations
No violations were found during the inspection.

Comments

Summary of Inspection

At today’s inspection there were 3 children and the Licensee present.
4 other children are currently enrolled but remaining at home during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Licensing did not conduct a full walk through of the whole home today as part of COVID-19 prevention strategies.

At this inspection no contraventions were identified.
As part of this Routine Inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool was completed and a copy was provided.

Licensing reviewed the facility’s COVID-19 prevention strategies and noted the following:
- Health and safety system in place in response to Pandemic
- Health policy adapted to include COVID-19 prevention strategies which will be provided to parents
- Appropriate hygiene practices maintained as per Provincial Health Officer Guidelines

Reminders:
- Reportable Incident reporting to Duty line: #604 587 3936 for emergencies if area Licensing Officer can’t be contacted.
- Lead in water – reminder to flush pipes
- Healthy eating using the Canada Food Guide
- Ensure attendance records are accurate at all times
- Emergency evacuation drill to be completed
- To have a copy of children's digital images available in case of emergency
