Introduction

An unscheduled routineinspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR)and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DoLSoP). All care categories were inspected for compliance.

Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.
Observed Violations
RECORDS AND REPORTING: 19260 - CCLR s.58(2)(b) - The licensee must (b) review the care plan at least once each year with a parent of the child requiring extra support and any person requested by the parent.
Observation: A child's care plan was not reviewed and updated yearly.
Corrective Action(s): Ensure the care plan for child requiring extra support is reviewed annually.

Comments

Summary of Inspection

At the inspection dated July 19, 2023 there were 18 children and 5 staff present. At this inspection above contraventions were identified. The Licensee is required to take corrective action to bring facility into compliance. As part of this Routine Inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool is completed.

The following items were discussed:
- Programming, i.e. Schedule G
- Nap time/ rest time supervision practices
- Staff/Manager were made aware of care plan review dates

This inspection report was written off site. The contents of this inspection report were reviewed with the Manager (via phone) and a copy was emailed.
