Introduction

An unschedule routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP). All designated areas of the facility from where the childcare operates were inspected for compliance.

Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
RECORDS AND REPORTING: 19250 - CCLR s.58(2)(a) - The licensee must (a) develop the care plan in consultation with a parent of the child requiring extra support and any person requested by the parent.
Observation: A random sampling of 6 children's records was completed. 1 record for a child attending noted the child required extra support and is receiving services from outside agencies.
Corrective Action(s): Ensure a care plan is developed to provide a continuum of care for the child between home and daycare. Please review Section 58 of the Child Care Licensing Regulation for requirements. Licensing to email sample information for care plans.

Comments

At the inspection dated February 7, 2019 there were 2 children and 1 staff present. At this inspection the above noted contraventions were identified. Actions required by the licensee and actions required by the LO are included in the report. As part of this Routine Inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool is completed and a copy is provided.
