Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Chlorine sanitizer was not setup at the time of inspection; this is a repeat violation. Only 99% isopropyl alcohol and all purpose cleaner was in use.
Corrective Action(s): Ensure 100 ppm chlorine sanitizer is available for use during all hours of operation to sanitize surfaces. Staff setup 100 ppm chlorine sanitizer (by mixing 1/2 teaspoon bleach per L of water) inside a sanitizer pail and inside a labelled spray bottle to sanitize surfaces at the time of inspection.

Observation: Two lids for pots were observed stored on the floor below the handsink. This is a repeat violation.
Corrective Action(s): Ensure the lids are cleaned, sanitized, and air dried and then placed off the floor; Correct today. Staff moved the lids to the 2-compartment sink for ware-washing during the inspection.

312 - Items not required for food premises operation being stored on the premises [s. 18]
Observation: A vegetable slicer stored on a shelving unit had food residue present over it. Staff informed that they are using a separate slicer on-site, the slicer with food residue on it is not used, and that they would remove it.
Corrective Action(s): Ensure the vegetable slicer with food residues on it is either disassembled, washed, rinsed, sanitized, and air dried to maintain it in a clean condition OR is removed from the food premises if it is no longer required for business use; Correct today.

Observation: Operator does not hold valid FOODSAFE Level 1 or equivalent course training; this is a repeat violation. Operator's son holds valid FOODSAFE Level 1 course training, however he is not the Operator on file and was not present on-site at the time of inspection.
Corrective Action(s): Ensure the Owner/Operator and at least one staff member on shift in the absence of the Operator holds valid FOODSAFE Level 1 or equivalent course training; Correct within 3 months from today and provide an update to the district Environmental Health Officer. Failure to comply with the Food Premises Regulation may result in enforcement action (e.g. issuance of a violation ticket).

Handsink in the kitchen and both handsinks in the customer washrooms were supplied with liquid soap, hot and cold running water, and single-use paper towels.
Coolers were at or below 4 degrees C.
Freezers (three chest freezers and upright freezer) were at or below -18 degrees C.
Hot-held food was at or above 60 degrees C.
2-compartment sink was supplied with hot and cold running water.
High temperature dishwasher final rinse temperature was at or above 71 degrees C (measured at 75 degrees C) at the time of inspection.
Food storage areas appeared clean at the time of inspection.
Ventilation hood appeared clean at the time of inspection.
No signs of recent pest activity were evident at the time of inspection.
Permit to operate was posted in a conspicuous location.
