Handsink was supplied with liquid soap, hot and cold running water, and single-use paper towels.
Staff member was observed washing her hands properly.
Under-the-counter coolers (cooler # 1 and cooler #2) were at or below 4 degrees C.
Display retail cooler was at or below 4 degrees C.
Facility has designated cold storage in the shared produce walk-in-cooler and a walk-in-freezer of the Real Canadian Superstore.
Produce walk-in-cooler was at or below 4 degrees C.
Walk-in-freezer temperature was satisfactory.
Refrigeration units were equipped with thermometers.
Food was observed to be covered in storage areas.
Refrigeration temperature records and sushi rice pH were being maintained. pH test strips were available.
Staff member had finished preparing the sushi prior to the inspection.
Sushi rice is held at ambient temperature for less than 2 hours (approximately for 30 minutes) according to the staff member.
3-compartment sink was supplied with hot and cold running water and three sink plugs.
First compartment sink was observed filled with soapy water. Third compartment sink contained 200 ppm QUATS sanitizer.
200 ppm QUATS sanitizer was available inside a labelled spray bottle.
QUATS test strips were available.
No signs of recent pest activity were evident at the time of inspection.
Staff member on shift held valid FOODSAFE Level 1 course training.
Permit to operate was posted in a conspicuous location.
