Introduction

A scheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP). A COVID-19 Prescreening was completed with the Manager prior to the inspection.

Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
RECORDS AND REPORTING: 19100 - CCLR s.57(2)(d) - A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (d) name and telephone number of a parent, medical practitioner and emergency contact.
Observation: A review of 6 children's records indicated that two were missing emergency contact information. One was missing Doctors Name or Clinic and phone number.
Corrective Action(s): Ensure emergency contact information and Doctor or Clinic information and phone numbers are available for each child in care.

Summary of Inspection:
At the inspection dated September 16, 2020, there was 6 children and 1 staff present. At this inspection the following contravention(s) were identified or no contraventions were identified. As part of the Routine inspection, a Facility Risk Assessment Tool was completed.
The following resources\recommendations are provided:
• COVID-19 Infection Control Assessment Checklist was reviewed and discussed. A copy of the checklist was provided by PDF email.
• Resource Package for ChildCare Facilities- COVID-19 Prevention and posters for handwashing was previously provided July 30, 2020
Discussed adding to the outdoor play policy, the minimum amount of time spent each day for outdoor play to be consistent with the Director of Licensing Standard of Practice (DLSOP) for Active Play. Licensee advised that due to the current COVID-19 situation, that additional time is spent outdoors that meets or exceeds the DLSOP.
