Observation: a) Fruit flies found in the dish pit and around the kitchen hand washing sink.
b) Mouse droppings found in the walk-in cooler, underneath beverages.
Corrective Action(s): a) Pest control should continue to treat for flies. Improved sanitation underneath equipment, shelves and containers will also help reduce the number of flies found in the kitchen.
b) Seal all entry points in the walk in cooler and ensure that there are enough traps. All food must be in pest proof containers.

Observation: Cleaning required underneath equipment, on shelving and on food containers to remove food debris and grease.

Comments

-The first part of the inspection onsite was with New Westminster Bylaw with regards to a complaint about smoking outside the premises. Discussed with the owners on site. Two No Smoking Bylaw stickers provided for the front windows.
-A new dishwasher will be installed. Ensure that the dishwasher is commercial grade, NSF approved and that the restaurant is not operating without a dishwasher during the transition time.
-The blue stand up cooler across from the dishwasher will be removed.

All coolers were < 4 C.
All freezers were < -18 C.
Quats solution was at 200 ppm
Ice machine was clean.
Hand sinks supplied with hot and cold water, soap and paper towels.
