Observation: Microblading pen/handle is not discarded after each use and is being reused.
Corrective Action(s): Microblading pens/handles with detachable heads are single-use critical items that must be discarded after each use. Discard any used microblading pens. Correct immediately. Update infection control plan.

Routine inspection:

Massage:
Room not inspected as room was being occupied for a service at the time of inspection.
Operator indicated linens are laundered after each and massage stones are disinfected with 70% isopropyl alcohol.

Facials:
Tweezers used are not meant to break skin. Lancets are presterilized and single use. Sharps container available for use.
Use CS20 for extractors.
Metal abrasive tips disinfected with CS20.

Manicure/pedicure:
All re-usable semi critical nail implements cleaned then disinfected with PREempt CS20 solution after use.
Pedicure tub disinfected with bleach solution after use. Use 20 ml of bleach with 980 ml of water.
No signs of single-use items being reused - good.

IPL hair removal:
Hand sink in treatment room available and fully equipped with hot/cold running water, liquid soap and both paper towel and cloth towels. If using only paper towels, place paper towels in a dispenser.
Laser warning sign posted on door when machine in use. Mirror in room also covered when hair removal services are occurring. *Cover the entire sink basin with a towel/cloth when service is being provided.
Laser machine is key operated and is equipped with an emergency on/off button.
Laser hand piece disinfected with 70% isopropyl alcohol.
Client goggles disinfected with PREempt CS20 solution after use. Use goggles as per manufacturer's recommendations.

Ear piercing:
Studs are prepackaged and presterilized.
Ear piercing gun is wiped down with 70% isopropyl alcohol after use then stored in a clean container.

Microblading:
Please provide updated infection control plan. Until updated infection control plan is provided and reviewed by the health inspector, do not provide microblading services.
All surfaces must be covered and protected from contamination when providing microblading services.

Skin Tag Removal:
Needles are prepackaged and presterilized.
Do not provide skin tag removal services until an updated infection control plan is provided.

Other:
Washroom hand sink provided with liquid soap and single use linen towels.
Laundry services done onsite and use hottest setting.
Utility sink available for use in back area. PREempt CS20 solution available for disinfecting semi critical implements.
Facility kept in a clean and organized condition.
