Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA) and the Child Care Licensing Regulation (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DoLSoP). All care categories were inspected for compliance.

Observed Violations

RECORDS AND REPORTING: 19070 - CCLR s.57(2)(a) - A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (a) name, sex, date of birth, medical insurance plan number and immunization status. Observation: Of the four children's records reviewed, one did not include immunization status. Corrective Action(s): Ensure to obtain immunization status for each child. Date to be Corrected: May 24, 2022 RECORDS AND REPORTING: 19100 - CCLR s.57(2)(d) - A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (d) name and telephone number of a parent, medical practitioner and emergency contact. Observation: Of the four children's records reviewed, one did not include an emergency contact. Corrective Action(s): Ensure to obtain an emergency contact for each child. Date to be Corrected: May 31, 2022

Comments

During this inspection, the above noted contraventions were identified. As part of this Routine inspection, a Facility Risk Assessment Tool was completed. The following was discussed with the manager: - emergency preparedness - healthy and safe environment - food safe The information contained in the report was discussed with the manager and the report and risk assessment were written off-site. Licensing emailed a copy of the report and the risk assessment to the facility.
