Comments

A follow-up inspection was completed:
- Owner has paid the yearly health permit fees via credit card. A decal will be mailed out shortly.
- The faucet in the front service area has been sealed and secured to the counter top.
- Owner is unable to replace the door gaskets on the coolers as they are too old.
- The dry storage room sanitation level is still poor and there are signs of rodent activity. Found an open container of rodenticide on the floor, this is NOT allowed. A pest company has NOT been contracted to eliminate the rodent problem. Open food packages have NOT been placed in sealed, plastic containers.

ACTION
The owner needs to save money and replace the whole cooler unit with one that is in working order (maintains food at 4C or colder at all times; cleanable; durable; and door gaskets that are intact, cleanable, durable, and seal doors tightly). This shall be done by the end of 2023 year.
Clean all surfaces of the dry storage room. Remove all items off shelves and floors, and scrub these surfaces to remove food, grease, and rodent droppings This MUST be done immediately, and to be done every week.
Immediately remove and stop using rodenticides in the premises. This is NOT allowed and is dangerous, as the poison could contaminate food or food contact surfaces.
Call a professional pest company to determine pest entry points; block entry points; and eliminate the rodent problem. The pest company must continue to service the business until the pest problem is eliminated.
Purchase hard, plastic food containers with tight fitting lids to store all open packages of food, in the dry storage room.
