Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP). All care categories were inspected for compliance.

Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice.

Observed Violations
No violations were found during the inspection.

Comments

At the inspection dated January 18, 2022 there were 31 children, 11 staff, 2 support workers, 1 practicum student and the Manager present. At this inspection no contraventions were identified. No further action is required by the Licensee or the Licensing Officer. As part of this Routine Inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool is completed and a copy is provided.
This inspection and the risk assessment were written off site and a copy was emailed to the facility

The following education/recommendations were provided:
- Continuing to follow Covid-19 safety protocols and checking for updates
- Procedure for fire drills and emergency evacuation drills
- System for checking and replenishing emergency food supplies
- Safe medication storage and care plan updates
- Notifying Licensing if changes are made to policies and procedures

At today's inspection there were 2 classrooms temporarily closed due to Covid-19. Appropriate staff/child ratios were maintained in all programs and extra staff were on site assisting with cleaning and sanitizing.
Licensing would like to thank the Manager and staff for their time and assistance during today's inspection.
