Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP). All care categories were inspected for compliance.

Contraventions

Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice.

Observed Violations
No violations were found during the inspection.

Comments

At the inspection dated Mar. 25, 2022 there were 29 children and 5 staff present.The manager was on-site and assisted with the inspection. At this inspection, no contraventions were identified. The information noted in this report were reviewed with the facility during the inspection.

A COVID-19 Risk Screening was also completed on-site.

Business cards were provided to the staff during the inspection.

As part of this Routine Inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool is completed and a copy is provided.

The following education/recommendations/discussions were provided:
- Reportable Incident procedures, which is to be reported within 24 hours
- Continue to document minor incidents using the incident log bound book, and take note of any illness and unexpected events involving children not requiring medical attention, and that are not reportable incidents as described in Schedule H and staff to initial and provide the date after each documentation
- Continue to clean and sanitize the facility including toys and equipment
- Continue hand hygiene procedures
- Check the expiry date of items in the emergency supplies kit
- Active supervision
- Reviewing care plans annually and location of children's emergency medication

Licensing would like to thank the facility for their time and assistance during today’s inspection.

The report was written off-site and a copy was sent to the facility.
