Inspection was conducted as the operator would like to open the food preparation area and drive-thru for business. The dining area, cash register area, and the coffee/beverage area of the restaurant is to remain closed as these areas are still undergoing renovations.

Food preparation area of the kitchen:
Handsink near the ware-washing area was supplied with liquid soap, hot and cold running water, and paper towels.
Food contact surfaces were in a sanitary condition.
100 ppm chlorine sanitizer in two buckets with wiping cloths was available.
Health approval was granted to prepare food and sell/serve it the to the public via the drive-thru area as this area is not impacted by construction and hoarding is placed between the drive-thru area and beverage area.
***The CYT equipment was non-operational at the time of inspection and may be used in March 2017. It was discussed with management that the temperature of this equipment will be checked next Wednesday. Ensure the refrigeration unit is equipped with an accurate thermometer.
A rinse sink had been installed against the wall in the beverage area however could not be accessed due to the construction equipment in this area.

The following is to be done:
1. Keep all areas affected by construction debris/work (e.g. installation of floor tiles, installation of ceiling tiles etc.) closed until the construction is completed and health approval has been provided to open these areas. Continue to provide hoarding between affected areas and the kitchen where food preparation will be occurring.
2. Ensure all handsinks are supplied with hot and cold running water, liquid soap and paper towels via wall-mounted dispensers. Re-locate the equipment for beverages near the CYT equipment to enable access to the handsink near the cash registers.
3. Ensure the rinse sink is supplied with hot and cold running water.
4. Ensure the food premises is separated via a barrier from the dining area (e.g. counter or flip door).
5. Ensure all of the requirements are met in the floor plan approval letter from Fraser Health.
6. Obtain an approval to operate the beverage area after the renovations have been completed and surfaces have been washed, rinsed, and sanitized.

The next follow up inspection will be December 28, 2016.
