301 - Equipment/utensils/food contact surfaces not maintained in sanitary condition [s. 17(1)]
Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Dough sheeter requires cleaning. Staff had advised the machine is used daily and cleaned/sanitized prior to each use. To be done within the next hour.
Corrective Action(s): Ensure to have the unit disassembled, cleaned and sanitized prior to use.

401 - Adequate handwashing stations not available for employees [s. 21(4)]
Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): 1) Handwashing station in the cake making area had dirty dishes in the sink. Staff had removed at this time.
2) No soap available for the main handwashing station in prep area. Liquid pump soap placed at this time.
Corrective Action(s): As per Food Premises Regulation, a handwashing station is required for each food prep area. Each handwash sink must be equipped with liquid soap, paper towels and hot/cold running water at all times. It must be used for handwashing purposes only and free of obstruction at all times.

Observation: Dessert balls on metal pan stored in the stand up freezer in the retail area.
Corrective Action(s): Ensure to have these balls covered and store at the bottom of the unit. Otherwise, these may be contaminated by customers hands when reaching for other items nearby.

311 - Premises not maintained as per approved plans [s. 6(1)(b)]
Observation: 1) Sink by the 2 compartment sink missing faucet. Staff had advised the sink is not required for the facility's current operation.
2) Soap dispenser for the main handwashing station no longer in use. Staff had advised they use washroom handsink for handwashing.
Corrective Action(s): The handwashing station must be properly equipped and in use, as discussed at this time.

Comments

Routine inspection conducted:

-Handwash station in the cake making area adequately supplied with liquid soap, paper towels and hot/cold running water.
-Coolers operating at/below required temperature of 4'C
-Patties/cheese bread stored in warmer ~40'C are time tracked. Records checked at this time Good!
-General food storage practice in walk-in and back facility satisfactory.
-200ppm chlorine solution available in a labelled spray bottle.
-Manual dishwashing done by the dishwasher in the afternoon. Manual dishwashing using 2 compartment sink provided at this time. Ensure the dishwasher follows this method.
-No evidence of pest activity observed at this time.
-Professional pest control company contracted. Kwality Pest Control.
-Operator was off site at this time. Staff on site Foodsafe Level 1 certified.

NOTE: There are still few items delivered from the Abbotsford location missing proper labels. Ensure to have them ALL labelled. Pictures taken at this time.
NOTE: Facility no longer produces Badam Milk at this location.

General sanitation level has improved from the previous routine inspection. Facility had decluttered the food prep area.
Follow-up inspection to be conducted on Friday, November 29, 2019.
