Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): One pair of scissors and some paper towels stained with food debris were found inside the handwash station in main food prep area.
Corrective Action(s): All items removed. Ensure the handwash station is accessible (nothing stored inside and sink is unobstructed), equipped with soap, paper towel, hot and cold running water.

212 - Operator has not provided acceptable written food handling procedures [s. 23]
Observation: Meatballs are new on the menu and were not included in the approved Food Safety Plan.
Corrective Action(s): If confirmed with the Fire Department that meatballs are allowed to be made onsite, you must add meatballs to the Food Safety Plan.

Observation: Mice droppings found in corner at entry to back room.
Corrective Action(s): Please remove the mice droppings in order to monitor for pest activity. Please obtain the Abell pest control report from last two service for review at follow up inspection.

311 - Premises not maintained as per approved plans [s. 6(1)(b)]
Observation: A new toaster oven was added by the hot plate without Health Approval. Operator informs that he uses it to roast garlic, vegetables and heat up sandwiches. Meatballs are also made onsite to make meatballs in tomato sauce on the hot plate.
Corrective Action(s): As discussed before, do NOT make changes or add/remove equipment without Health Approval. To verify with the Fire Department if this is a concern.

315 - Refrigeration units and hot holding equipment lack accurate thermometers [s. 19(2)]
Observation: No thermometer onsite to probe the soup and no thermometer gauge in the coke cooler (stores half a wheel of parmasean cheese, sandwiches etc.).
Corrective Action(s): Please obtain a probe thermometer to determine food temperature and a gauge thermometer to monitor fridge temperature.
