Code 301 noted on Routine inspection # MBEK-CRFRDP of May-02-2023 Equipment/utensils/food contact surfaces not maintained in sanitary condition [s. 17(1)] Observation: Ice machine has buildup of what appeared to be mildew/mould on plastic panel covering ice maker and also along upper plastic edge within large ice storage compartment. Correction: Discard ice. Ensure interior surfaces are properly cleaned and sanitized. Date to be corrected by: May 3, 2023.

Comments

Follow up to report MBEK-CRFRDP. Preparation cooler noted on previous report was measured at 4 degrees C. Thermometers available within coolers. Ice machine observed to be in clean condition. Quaternary ammonium compounds (quats) sanitizer available in spray bottles (bar / kitchen) at 200 ppm. Chemical containers / bottles labeled. Kitchen staff on site stated they have FOODSAFE Level 1 (or equivalent); however, certificate not available at time of inspection. Certificate to be forwarded to the Environmental Health Officer. It was discussed that copies of staff / management FOODSAFE Level 1 (or equivalent) certificates are to be available upon request (e.g. keep copies on site). Additional staff to receive training as necessary in order to maintain compliance with regulatory requirements.
