POLICIES AND PROCEDURES: 13010 - CCLR s.22(1)(a) - A licensee must (a) ensure that a community care facility has (i) emergency exits that meet the requirements of the BC Building Code, and (ii) a fire drill system that is approved as definedby section 31 of the Fire Services Act.
Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Emergency exit gate out of outdoor play space, which is also the approved secondary exit, was locked with a padlock and the key was located inside.
Corrective Action(s): As per fire exit requirements, this gate must remain unlocked when children are in care

Observation: Licensing was informed that a child in care does not meet the definition of the licensed care program, as all areas of the facility are licensed therefore all children in care must meet the age requirements as defined
Corrective Action(s): Children that do not meet the care program definition must not be present
