Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSOP). This is a six month routine inspection.
Evidence for this report was based on the Licensing Officer’s observations, review of the facility records and information provided by the facility staff at the time of inspection.

The following areas were reviewed:
Licensing
Physical Facility
Staffing
Policies and Procedures
Care and supervision/Hygiene and medication
Nutrition
Program
Child Records and reporting

The facility is operating in compliance in all areas except for the noted contravention below.

Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
RECORDS AND REPORTING: 19070 - CCLR s.57(2)(a) - A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (a) name, sex, date of birth, medical insurance plan number and immunization status.
Observation: All 6 registration records were reviewed and were complete with the exception of missing the immunization status for one child.
Corrective Action(s): As discussed, please ensure all records are complete as per requirements prior to attendance. Response was received on November 21,2019 from the Licensee indicating completion of record.

Comments

Summary of Inspection:
At the inspection dated November 20, 2019 the Manager was present with 5 children in care. Also another child was present with a parent on a gradual entry but left shortly after Licensing Officer's arrival.
Due to technical problems, this inspection report was written off site and provided to the Manager on November 25, 2019, however, Licensee was notified of the results of inspection on date of inspection.
Action required by the Licensee included providing a written response. Licensing received a response from the Licensee prior to delivery of report on November 25,2019.
Actions required by Licensing: The response was reviewed and incomplete record of immunization status was completed and no further response is required.

As part of this Routine Inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool was completed and a copy was provided.
