Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was completed to assess compliance withthe Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA) and the Child Care Licensing Regulation (CCLR) and the Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSOP). All areas of the facility were inspected for compliance with the exception of the outdoor play area that is inspected regularly by the Burnaby School Board.

Contraventions
Previous Inspection - Contraventions observed on FIR # have been corrected.
Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
PHYSICAL FACILITY, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS: 11010 - CCLR s.13(1) - A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.
Observation: The following was observed during the inspection:
-A window did not have a lock applied. The window was able to open larger than 4 inches. This was corrected during the inspection
-Two electrical outlets were missing plug covers.
-A cubby was easy to move and may present a tipping hazard
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure a healthy and safe environment is provided.

Comments

At the inspection dated February 27, 2024, there were 8 children and the Manager was present. At the inspection the above noted contravention was identified. Please correct the above noted contravention by March 5, 2024. As part of the inspection the Facility Risk Assessment Tool is completed and a copy will be provided to the Manager.

The following was discussed with the Manager:
-Reportable Incident reporting
-Lead in the water prevention strategies
-Cleaning Protocols that are in place
