Introduction

The purpose of today's inspection was to complete follow up inspection to the routine inspection conducted on May 11, 2022.
Justice Institute practicum student was present for this inspection.
All areas contravened on previous inspection were re-inspected for compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act and/or the Child Care Licensing Regulations.

Observed Violations
PHYSICAL FACILITY, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS: 11010 - CCLR s.13(1) - A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.
Observation: Refridgerator in Infant room does not contain a thermometer, therefore there is no evidence to support that the optimal food storage temperature is being maintained
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure refridgerator temperature is reading between 0 - 4 degrees Celcius when storing infant food supplies

PHYSICAL FACILITY, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS: 11090 - CCLR s.15(1)(b) - A licensee must supply equipment, furniture and supplies that are (b) located so as not to block or hamper an exit in the case of fire or other emergency.
Observation: Portable Air Conditioner hose is stretched from the child care space across the front emergency exit door, making it difficult to access the exit safely
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure emergency exits access is not hampered or blocked in any way

STAFFING: 12060 - CCLR s.19(1)(c) - A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (c) a record of the person's work history.
Observation: A record of the person's work history was not obtained for one or more employees.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure all legislatively required documentation is obtained and maintained at all times

Comments

At this inspection the above noted contravention were identified. The Licensee/Manager will take action to bring the facility into compliance and provide a written response to the Licensing Officer. The Licensing Officer will review the response, however all noted contraventions on FIR# MMON-CECTP9 have been suitably addressed.
