Introduction

An unscheduled Routine Inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP).

Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
PHYSICAL FACILITY, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS: 11200 - CCLR s.17 - A licensee must ensure that children do not have access to any object or substance that may be hazardous to the health or safety of a child.
Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Three areas were observed to have electrical cords accessible to children. This was corrected during the inspection.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure that children do not have access to any object or substance that may be hazardous to the health or safety.

Comments

Summary of Inspection:
During today’s inspection, there were 7 children, and the manager on site.
At this inspection the above noted contravention was identified and corrected during the inspection, therefore no further action is required by the licensee.

The following was discussed:
The School Age Care program was discussed, and the manager said the program continues to be on hold until sufficient staff have been hired.
Discussed the practice of printing a paper copy of children's registration in the event the digital device is inaccessible.
