Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Back handwashing sink next to the walk-in freezer lack paper towels.

304 - Premises not free of pests [s. 26(a)]
Observation: Observed flies around the front service area and dozen of dead flies on the floor near the back storage area. Pest control report indicated on Aug 17, 2023 that flies were caught in the traps installed in the prior month. Pest control informed that flies are entering through open doors and drive-thru window and advise air curtains to be on at the drive thru and door closed to prevent flies from entering. Air curtain at the drive thru window was turned off.
Corrective Action(s): Clean and sanitize the floor at th back storage area. Ensure door is closed and air curtain is turned on at the drive-thru window. Corrected by: Today.

Observation: Observed damp and food debris along the floor drain where ice machine and combi oven is situated at to drain liquid.
Corrective Action(s): Clean and sanitize the aformentioned areas. Ensure that floor drains are sanitarily maintained to prevent possible fly breeding. Corrected by: September 13, 2023.

Observation: Built-up of ice cap mixture and sugar observed underneath and along the sides the ice cap machine at the front of house near the drive thru machine where flies are observed to be around.
Corrective Action(s): Clean and sanitize the aformentioned areas. Periodic cleaning and sanitizing around the ice cap machine and front area must be conducted to prevent syrup, food accumulation on food contact surfaces that may attract pests. Corrected by: September 13, 2023.

Routine Inspection conducted today.

Front handwashing sinks well equipped with hot and cold running water, liquid soap, and paper towels.
QUATs dispenser and sanitizer buckets measured at 200ppm. 3-compartment sink available. High-temperature dishwasher measured at 74.0C final rinse temperature.
Prep cooler, display cooler, walk-in cooler, milk dispenser compartment, ice cap compartment measured at 4C or lower. Walk-in freezer measured at -18C. Hot-holding units measured at 60C or higher.
Ice machine observed to be in sanitary condition. Scoops observed to be stored outside.

NOTE: Ensure time stamp is available for savoury products. If digital track, require Fraser Health to approve of such time tracking. Email inspector of such approval to opt out of time stamp via stickers for savoury products.
