Introduction

An unscheduled follow up inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP). Areas of non-compliance identified at the last routine inspection were reviewed today.

Observed Violations

RECORDS AND REPORTING: 19090 - CCLR s.57(2)(c) - A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (c) daily attendance record, indicating for each day whether the child is absent or, if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure. Observation: Upon inspection there were 13 children signed in and only 12 children present. Through discussion with staff it was noted a child had gone home directly from the field trip earlier in the day. Corrective Action(s): Please ensure for each child, a record showing the following information: (c) daily attendance record, indicating for each day whether the child is absent or, if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure. Comments

Summary of Inspection At this inspection dated Oct 25, 2019 there were 12 children and 2 staff present in the group child care (School Age) program. The group child care (30 months to school age) program was also in operation. The above noted contraventions were identified. No response is necessary from the licensee. The following education/recommendations were provided through discussion: - The following resources were provided and discussed with staff on site. - Guiding Children's Behaviors - Child Safety Alert Bulletin Visit the CCFL website at www.fraserhealth.ca/childcare for additional resources, and links to the Legislation (CCALA and CCLR). There was a JIBC student present at the inspection. This report was reviewed with the Staff. Thank you for your time today.
