Introduction

An unscheduled inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP). All care categories were inspected for compliance.

Observed Violations

RECORDS AND REPORTING: 19100 - CCLR s.57(2)(d) - A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (d) name and telephone number of a parent, medical practitioner and emergency contact. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Audit of 5 children's files revealed one file missing medical practioner name and contact phone number Corrective Action(s): Please ensure all legislatively required documentation is obtained and maintained at all times Date to be Corrected: January 31, 2023

Comments

At the inspection dated January 30, 2023 there were 4 children and 1 staff present. At this inspection the above noted contravention were identified. The Licensee/Manager took action while the Licensing Officer was on site, therefore no written response is requested and no further action is required. As part of this Routine Inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool is completed. For this inspection the contents of the Facility Inspection Report and Risk Assessment were discussed and provided to the Licensee and/or Manager while on site.
