Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): All items inside the walk-in cooler, including saag, cut peppers and onions, cream containers (2 x 4L each), cut carrots, butter chicken curry were all above 9C.
Corrective Action(s): Aforementioned items all discarded at time of inspection. All potentially hazardous foods MUST be stoerd at 4C or less to prevent the growth of bacteria that can cause foodborne illness.

401 - Adequate handwashing stations not available for employees [s. 21(4)]
Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Hand wash station was not stocked with paper towels in the main hand wash sink and in the restroom.
Corrective Action(s): Hand wash sinks were restocked with paper towels at time of inspection. Always have paper towels available to dry your hands after hand washing.

Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): 1. Various items inside walk-in cooler uncovered at time of inspection, including samosas.
2. Styrofoam bowls present inside dry storage bins being used as "scoops". Metal scoop inside one chickpea flour was fully immersed inside.
3. Ice wand placed on floor of walk-in freezer.
Corrective Action(s): 1. Cover all items when not in use with saran wrap or a tight-fitting lid.
2. Styrofoam bowls removed at time of inspection. Metal scoop inside chickpea flour removed to be cleaned and sanitized.
3. Ice wand was placed in the dishpit to be cleaned and sanitized. Do not store ice wands on the floor, as this is a food contact surface.

304 - Premises not free of pests [s. 26(a)]
Observation: 1. 2 Ketch-All (TM) traps present - 1 with one dead mouse, 1 with two dead mice.
2. Droppings noted inside both corner cabinets at the front-of-house.
Corrective Action(s): 1. Professional pest control company has been contacted to remove mice.
2. Remove all items inside the cabinets and thoroughly disinfect the area with 1 part bleach, 9 parts water for at least 15 minutes.

Continue to work with your pest control company to identify any entry sites to mitigate pest activity.

Observation: 1. Prep cooler was at an ambient temperature of 11C (top & bottom). Top lids were broken off and were not in use.
2. Paper towel dispenser has been burned by heat and is out of commission.
Corrective Action(s): 1. Contents inside prep cooler were emptied at time of inspection and discarded. Repair or replace prep cooler with an equivalent that can maintain 4C or less.
2. Replace the paper towel dispenser.

Comments

Routine inspection conducted. The following was noted during the inspection:

1. Temperatures
- Walk-in cooler at 4C
- Walk-in freezer at -14C
- Prep cooler at approximately 11C (see violation code above)
- Stand-up compartmentalized cooler at approximately 4C, compartmentalized freezer units at -12C
- Temperature logs were maintained and up-to-date

2. Hygiene and Sanitizing
- High-temperature dishwasher sanitizes at final rinse cycle of 71C at the plate (Min: 71C)
- Ventilation canopy generally is well maintained

3. Storage
- All dry products are stored inside containers with tight-fitting lids
- Food products generally stored at least 6" off the floor

4. Administrative
- Permit posted and up-to-date
- Two employees on-site showed FoodSafe 1 certificates at time of inspection (Expiry: July 13, 2023)

Follow-up inspection to occur later to ensure that pending aforementioned issues are addressed.
