Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), and the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR), and the Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DoLSoP). All care categories were inspected for compliance.

Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
POLICIES AND PROCEDURES: 13020 - CCLR s.22(1)(b) - A licensee must: (b) have an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency.
Observation: Fire Extinguisher has not been serviced annually
Corrective Action(s): Ensure that the fire extinguisher is serviced annually.

Comments

Summary of Inspection:
During today’s inspection, there was 1 child, and the licensee on site. Licensee own child was with licensee's mother upstairs.
At this inspection the above noted contraventions were identified. Licensee is required to submit a corrective action plan to address the contraventions
The following was discussed:
· Discussed calling the CRC phone # to see what is the delay in Licensee's mother's CRC.
· Licensing reviewed the storage of emergency supplies so that it is easily accessible in the case of emergency
· Discussed having a written policy for the pets in the facility and include the policy in the parent handbook.
