Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP). All care categories were inspected for compliance.

Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
RECORDS AND REPORTING: 19100 - CCLR s.57(2)(d) - A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (d) name and telephone number of a parent, medical practitioner and emergency contact.
Observation: Review of 7 children's files observed 1 did not have a medical practitioner's name and telephone.

Comments

At the inspection dated December 01, 2023 there were 42 children and 7 staff present. At this inspection the above noted contraventions were identified. The Manager will take action to bring the facility into compliance and provide a written response to the Licensing Officer. The Licensing Officer will review the response. As part of this Routine Inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool is completed. This inspection and the risk assessment were written on site and reviewed with the Manager, a copy was provided via email.


The following education/recommendations were provided:
- Care plans, medications and dietary restrictions.
- Parents may list a walk in clinic if a family doctor is not available.
- Submitting exemptions.
