Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care & Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulation (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DoLSOP). Evidence for this report was based on the Licensing Officer’s observations, review of the facility records and information provided by the facility staff at the time of inspection.
The following areas were reviewed: Licensing; Physical Facility; Staffing; Polices & Procedures; Care & Supervision; Hygiene and Communicable Disease Control; Medication; Nutrition and Food Services; Program; Records and Reporting
As part of the Routine Inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool is completed and a copy is provided. The Risk Assessment includes non-compliance identified during the routine inspection and a 3 year “historical” review of the facility’s compliance and operation.

Live 5210 Program was discussed with Licensee, Live 5210 resource package left at time of inspection.
Inspection report was reviewed with Licensee before report was signed and printed.
Licensing would like to thank the staff and children of Happy Face Family Child Care for their time and assistance during today’s inspection.

Contraventions
Previous Inspection - Contraventions observed on FIR #KSEY-A4TQBJ have been corrected.
Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice.

Observed Violations
No violations were found during the inspection.

Comments

During inspection Licensing noted that children were engaged in free play inside which consisted of dramatic play, fine motor activities and looking at books. Children had outdoor free play time which consisted of riding on toys, walking in the rain, blowing bubbles etc.
Licensing noted that children have access to fine motor equipment, art supplies, books etc.
During inspection Licensing observed staff persons interacting with children during their activities and assisting with problem solving when needed.
