Introduction

An unscheduled inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP). All care categories were inspected for compliance.

Observed Violations

PHYSICAL FACILITY, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS: 11010 - CCLR s.13(1) - A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): One shelving unit over 3 feet in height is not secured in the washroom Corrective Action(s): Please ensure all shelving/storage units over 3 feet in height are secured/removed Date to be Corrected: May 15, 2023

Comments

At the inspection dated May 12, 2023 there were 36 children and 8 staff present. At this inspection the above noted contravention were identified. The Licensee/Manager addressed the contravention while Licensing was on site therefore no written response is requested and no further follow up required. As part of this Routine Inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool is completed. For this inspection the contents of the Facility Inspection Report and Risk Assessment were discussed and provided to the Licensee and/or Manager while on site.
