Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care & Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulation (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DOLSP). All care categories were inspected for compliance.

Observed Violations
STAFFING: 12350 - CCLR s.37(2) - A licensee must replace an absent employee.
Observation: The managers last day at the facility was January 12, 2024 and has been absent for more than 30 consecutive days.
Corrective Action(s): The Licensee must replace a manger who is absent for more than 30 consecutive days with a person qualified to be the manager.

Summary of Inspection
At the inspection dated February 20, 2024 there were eighteen children and five staff present. At this inspection the above noted contravention was identified. The Licensee will take action to bring the facility into compliance and provide a written response to the Licensing Officer. The Licensing Officer will review the response. As part of this routine inspection, a facility risk assessment tool is completed and a copy is provided. This report was reviewed with a staff member and written on site. A copy of this report will be emailed to the YMCA Kid's Club Supervisor.
