308 - Equipment/utensils/food contact surfaces are not in good working order [s. 16(b)]
Observation: 1) Prep counter and sink area deteriorated. MDF (particle board) exposed in several areas and is a risk to flake off into food. Water is leaking from around sink surround down into cupboard below. Back splash is duct taped to wall and although the repair has removed some of the old repair, mould and old food debris continues to accumulate around faucet. No contact made with this office as requested from previous inspection. Pictures taken.
2) Grease trap and pipe network around back sinks severly deteriorated and rusted. Grease, food debris and waste water from leaks has accumulated to a point that this area is not able to stay sanitary and is potentially a health risk. Pictures taken.
Corrective Action(s): 1) Repair countertop properly as requested multiple times. A correction plan must be submitted and approved prior to commencement of work.
Written plan or plans for counter to be submitted to this office by August 1, 2019. Work to be completed by September 15th, 2019.
2) Repair grease trap and all plumbing pipe work around grease trap and back sinks. This work must be completed by a certified plumber and must conform to the BC Plumbing Code.
Written plan for grease trap and surrounding plumbing work to be submitted to this office by August 1, 2019.
Work to be completed by December 1, 2019.
