Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Red peppers stored outside in cardboard box on the steps of the outdoor walk-in cooler.
Corrective Action(s): Ensure that all foods are kept inside the premises, or inside one of the outdoor coolers/freezers at all times to prevent contamation, especially from pests. Peppers moved back into the walk-in cooler at the time of inspection.

Observation: Hole in the wall by the staircase. Wood has deteriorated and insulation foam is exposed.

Comments

- Cleaning has improved, continue to maintain sanitation; more attention is required in the outdoor area with coolers and freezers
- Old freezer with broken lid has been removed from premises (out in back alley, awaiting disposal)
- New, larger freezer in place in the upstairs storage area
- Handwashing station stocked with soap, paper towels and hot and cold running water

- Operator has decided to purchase fermented rice wine instead of producing it. If you wish to produce your own rice wine in the future, please contact the Liquor & Cannabis Regulation Branch of BC to ensure that you are properly licensed; please also inform your health inspector.
