Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Several raw carrots appear moudy with spots or white hair. Owner informed that they were discounted products and that carrots are picked through for public consumption.
Corrective Action(s): Do not use moudy ingredients as they are unsafe for consumption. If the products already appear mouldy at time of purchase, do not obtain them. Carrots discarded.

302 - Equipment/utensils/food contact surfaces not properly washed and sanitized [s. 17(2)]
Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Inquired owner how meat slicer is cleaned and he explained that all parts are cleaned then sanitized with bleach after use. Meat debris build up is noted under the guard and is not reguarly cleaned.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure to properly clean all surface of the meat slicer, including area underneath the guard. Owner cleaned unit at time of inspection as meat slicer was left in walk-in cooler and yet to be cleaned.

Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): No paper towel in the staff washroom downstairs.
Corrective Action(s): Owner obtained paper towel immediately. Ensure all handwash stations are equipped with soap, paper towel, hot & cold running water at all times.
