At the inspection dated January 28, 2020 there were 12 children and two staff present, in addition to two support workers and 1 practicum student. Staff qualifications and child to staff ratios were met. At this inspection no contraventions were identified. As part of this Routine Inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool is completed and a copy is provided.
Registration Forms
As discussed, the current registration form requests that the authorized pickups be someone other than the emergency contact and guardians. In review of some of the registration forms, this practice is not consistent as some authorized pickups are also indicated as emergency contact. It is recommended that the forms be updated to ensure consistency.
Withdrawal Date
A review of a past registration for a child no longer attending did not indicate the last day the child attended as per Section 57 (2) (k) of the Child Care Licensing Regulation. It is acknowledged that this information may be at the head office. Discussed with the Supervisor that the information be added on the registration form to indicate last day attended.
Outdoor Play Area
Some of the equipment in the outdoor play area will need to be cleaned. It is acknowledged that the recent weather has contributed. The Supervisor advised that alternate product may be brought in for the ground covering as the area gets muddy and slippery.
