Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DoLSoP). All care categories were inspected for compliance.

Observed Violations
RECORDS AND REPORTING: 19100 - CCLR s.57(2)(d) - A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (d) name and telephone number of a parent, medical practitioner and emergency contact.
Observation: Licensing reviewed 10 children's files; 1 child's emergency contact was missing.
- one child was missing a medical practitioner's name and telephone number.
Corrective Action(s): Ensure all children's files are complete and have an emergency contact in case parents cannot be reached in emergency situations. The staff said they will ask the parents for one.
- Please ensure children's information is complete, a medical walk in clinic is acceptable. The staff said they will get the information from the families.

On the inspection date of February 29, 2024, there were 21 children and 3 staff present. At this inspection the above noted contraventions were identified. Please provide Licensing with a written response, by the date noted below, stating how the identified contraventions will be addressed in order to ensure year round compliance. As part of this Routine Inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool is completed and a copy is provided. This inspection report was completed off site and emailed to the facility the same day.
